Week 3 – RSS feeds

I’m a little behind but I wanted to explore these feeds a little more before posting.  I subscribed to several feeds including the New York Times Book Review, National Geographic News and Scientific American.  The Book review site is a little dry in appearance, a truly bland appearance.  You can get a short blurb on an item or a full review on all types of works.  On the other hand the National Geographic News site is bold and colourful and encourages you to explore the various topics in print, photos and videos.  You can view scenes from the Lunar Eclipse if you missed it last week or watch a video on the worrisome warming trend in the Swiss Alps.  Scientific American was at first rather disappointing as all I saw were old news feeds from last fall which had already expired.  However, when I clicked on the Scientific American title it took me to the current news stories on a wide range of topics.   Soooo, who really needs the magazines now?

It was quite simple to save these feeds to my blog.  I used Bloglines to search for the feeds and found them through the link for the 200 most popular feeds,  then you just click on subscribe, answer a few format questions and there it is!
